The Compton Players is a small and friendly amateur drama group. We have won a number of awards over the years from the Barnet Drama Festival including Best Director, Best Actress, Best Design and The Comedy Award.
We always welcome new members from those who would like to act to those interested in back stage jobs including set design and construction, stage management, props, costumes, continuity and even making the tea – everyone welcome!
There are plenty of opportunity to get involved – all we want is your enthusiasm and commitment.
We produce two plays per year, usually in March/April and November, a mix of comedy, drama, farce and murder mysteries. We rehearse on Monday and Thursday evenings in the Waterhouse Hall at the back of the Church at 8pm.
Recent productions include The Actress and Prepare To Meet Thy Tomb, both of which sold out to critical acclaim! Since the pandemic, we have produced two plays in ‘radio performance’ style, A Christmas Carol and Daisy Pulls It Off. This has eased us back gently into performing after the enforced break!
